Gold brocade sketches

Today I have more designs in the same style as the bridal design sketches from a few weeks ago. I was surprised to see that you guys really liked the sketches I showed last time so I though I'd post some more. These are an ode to the brocade rage that has recently sparked and, I must confess, I'm pretty obsessed with the look. 

There is no Halloween related content on the blog today so let me wish you guys a happy and safe Halloween. 

Invitation illustrations project

Long time no see, even though I have been lurking around a little bit commenting and replying. It's been a busy week but the weekend is almost here, so that is something to smile about. 

Today I want to share a project I had the pleasure to work on recently for the website ejovo.com. I made illustrations for various sets of invitations like Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc. I made quite a few so they are going behind the cut.

It's been one of those stressful and difficult weeks. A tough one to keep up with and it even got in the way of me working on personal illustrations and blogging (which I'm not fully back to yet). But in the midst of it I had to breathe in and stop for a second to remind myself that sometimes we worry about transitory and very small things that don't really add up to much in the big picture. 

So, I wanted to let you know that it's ok to relax for a second. Stop, think of three things that made you smile today and do just that.

You know, the wonderful, supportive and encouraging comments and emails I've received lately have been pretty unbelievable and overwhelmingly amazing. That has been one thing that has kept me smiling big and bright.

Bridal design sketches

This is turning out to be one of those busy weeks so you might not see much of me for a few days. I was preparing some sketches for a project due next week and I decided to share a couple of them. These are designs for a collection we are working on for class. 

This style is a bit out of my comfort zone because of how loose and simplified it is as opposed to the very detailed illustrations I love drawing but it suits its purpose nicely. It's fun working on quick sketches when an idea suddenly strikes and you need to put it down on paper fast.

This is Rachel Whitehurst, beauty blogger/vlogger and makeup guru. I love her style and her makeup is always flawless. She is know for her love of bright and dark lipsticks, which usually gives me the courage to try a pop of color on my lips more often. She's also a talented singer during her free time and uploads covers from great songs on her Youtube channel every once in a while. 

I had so much fun working on this illustration that I think I'll be drawing more of these type of portraits of my favorite bloggers and people in general in the future. 

Now I'm going back to work on this fun project that I shared with you yesterday. 

Lately 01

I haven't forgotten about showing you my latest illustration, it's coming tomorrow. Today I'm showing what I'm working on right now. This is an exciting and super festive project that I can't wait to fully share. 

Fall and winter are my favorite seasons. The cool air, cozy sweaters, celebrating the holidays with the people you love. Nothing beats this time of the year. Anyway, I'm getting way off track.
