Illustration set
Here's a quick illustration I worked on last week. I'm happy I have been able to make the time to draw more often lately. I hope you are all having a lovely Sunday.

Have an Adventure
I have been bitten by the travel bug and I'm itching to go on a road trip. These images are really inspiring and they are making it that much harder to ignore the feeling.

Sewing Project: Navy Blue Dress
It seems like I have been talking about this project for a while now. Regardless, I am happy to finally show you guys how it turned out. I still need to press a couple of things that you might notice but I was so excited about finishing that I went ahead and took the photos anyway. You can see more after the jump.

Sewing Project: Supplies and Progress
Here's another look into my latest sewing project. I chose a beautiful navy blue gauze for the dress. This fabric was too sheer and light for the bodice so I underlined with a batiste. I had a hard time finding the perfect buttons at the stores I visited and just as I was about to give up I found a thrifted shirt around the house that had these beautiful buttons and I immediately knew they were the ones. I also had that lace lying around and I considered adding it at one point but then I changed my mind. I'm saving it for something better.

Sewing Project: Muslin
Here's how this project has progressed. Once I drafted the patterns I sewed the muslin to check that it would fit me. I always like making a muslin when I'm drafting my own patterns just to make sure that everything is correct and that I haven't overlooked anything.
With this muslin, everything was ok. The only thing I had to modify was the bodice's length. It did not sit on my natural waist, which felt a bit uncomfortable so I just added 1/2" and that helped.
Next up you can expect the supplies and fabric I chose, some progress photos and after that the final reveal. I'm so excited to show you guys the finished dress, I took photos of it this afternoon so stay tuned.
By the way, does anyone know why there's suddenly a big ad on my blog even though I have not signed up for any program? It just showed up over night. I even think that it might be showing up only on certain browsers. Any thoughts on how to get rid of it?

Sketches
Hi guys! Let me take this opportunity to welcome the new followers. Thank you very much for following and I hope you enjoy my blog. Here you have some sketches.
Today I will hopefully finish the dress I've been working on these past few weeks. Like I said on a previous post, all I have left to sew are the cuffs so it should be done soon.

Interiors inspiration
I have been working on this project for the past couple of weeks and, let me tell you, whenever I'm sewing a big project my room/studio suddenly turns into an untameable mess. Therefore I need some pretty interior inspiration to motivate me to clean everything up and maybe even rearrange a couple of things here and there to keep everything looking fresh.
I love a well lit space with a whole lot of natural light, which is something very important for any space but it's especially convenient if you sew, draft patterns, draw; for anything really.

Illustration Sets: Poolside
I'm loving these sets.
Prints available here.
In other news, I'm about to finish this dress. It's basically done and I even tried it on yesterday, I only have to sew the cuffs so as soon as I'm done with that I'll try to photograph it and upload it with the rest of the information about this project.

Illustrated sets: Summer Adventures
I love mixing prints and colorful patterns for summer. An outfit like this makes me want to go hiking somewhere beautiful, carrying a big backpack to fit a camera, sketchbook and my watercolor set. Give me that and I'm one happy girl.

Illustrations: oldie but goodie
These are some flowers that I illustrated last year. My obsession with watercolors began a while ago and has been going strong for years now.

Sewing project: Dress Pattern
After putting together the inspiration for this dress, sketching the design and figuring out how I wanted to modify the darts I started drafting the patterns to my own measurements. The way I modified the dart was by simply elongating the end of the dart to cut the top part of the bodice and create a detail all around. I could have gone for something a bit more complex but the whole idea for this design was to keep it as simple as possible. I even considered color blocking that part but ended up dismissing that idea because, like I mentioned, I wanted to keep it simple.
Since the patterns ended up fitting me really well I might sew another one later and color block the bodice.

Sewing project: Inspiration
I am staring these posts a little late since I already stated sewing this dress a few weeks before I created the blog. Still, I love the process of looking for inspiration, sketching the design, drafting patterns, trying a muslin, picking out fabrics and finally, sewing the garment. Therefore, I wanted to document my work so far. Read more about the beginning steps for this design after the jump.

Patrick J. Adams
Today I am sharing some of my love for Patrick J. Adams. He is an actor best known for his role in the tv show Suits (which you should be watching, by the way) but he is also a great photographer and that is what I want to showcase today.
My favorite photograph of his is the first one, taken on a trip to the Kauri Coast, New Zealand. You will soon come to realize that I am a huge sucker for beautiful travel photography.

New Beginnigs
Creating this blog was a long time coming. I've played with the idea in my head countless of times and I've found myself daydreaming of having my own little space online exclusively dedicated not only to my work but also to everything that inspires me.
